USW in Cambridge Ontario Honoured by United Way as "Campaign of the Week"

CAMBRIDGE TIMES, 9 Oct. 2009 – USW donated $10,000 to the United Way Campaign in support of the working families of Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo and Guelph, many of whom have suffered job loss during this current economical strife.

The local donated $10,000.00 to be distributed amongst the three surrounding United Ways in the area which are Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo and Guelph. Laurie Mapplebeck, President of Local 4610 said the donation was made because “feeling the crush of job loss in our communities, the local was extremely grateful for the privilege to give back during this current economical strife”.
